British Columbia – Grow Your Business Online Grant

Manitoba – Manitoba Accessibility Fund

Ontario – Grow Your Business Online Grant

The Ontario Chamber of Commerce and the Canadian Federal Government have partnered to launch the Canada Digital Adoption Program, which features the Grow Your Business Online grant.

Small businesses can receive a micro-grant of up to $2,400 with this program and make their digital presence more powerful, develop e-commerce operations or digitalize their companies.

Grant recipients must keep up their digital adoption strategy for at least six months.
To be eligible to qualify for the micro-grant, you must:

  • Have a for-profit structure and be located within Ontario, including both social enterprises and cooperatives
  • Be a consumer-facing business
  • Be a registered or incorporated business
  • Be physically accessible to consumers or provide in-person services to consumers
  • Have one or more employees (excluding the owner) or meet specific financial criteria
  • Consent to take part in follow-up surveys, provide information to the Government of Canada (ISED and Statistics Canada), and allow the name of your business to be published as a recipient of funding

Atlantic Canada – Business Development Program

The Business Development Program (BDP) is designed to help entrepreneurs in Atlantic Canada launch, modernize, and expand their businesses. It offers essential resources that can foster success and drive business growth. Funding is interest-free and unsecured.

Startup businesses, expansions, and other activities such as staff training, efficiency studies, marketing/trade activities, productivity improvements, quality assurance, and environmental management systems are eligible for up to 50% of their costs covered by this program. An interest-free contribution is also available to cover up to 75% of the qualified expenses incurred.

Criteria for eligibility include being one of the following:

  • Not-for-profit organization
  • Small and medium enterprise (SME)

Newfoundland and Labrador – The Cultural Economic Development Program (CEDP) Heritage Component – Support for Heritage Projects Component

This initiative targets community heritage organizations, including museums, archives, and historical societies. In 2012, a Heritage Advisory Committee was established for the Community Economic Development Program (CEDP).

This committee comprises representatives from the Department, the Museum Association of Newfoundland and Labrador, the Association of Newfoundland and Labrador Archives, and the Association of Heritage Industries.

The committee is responsible for evaluating, overseeing, and offering recommendations to the Department regarding the Heritage component of CEDP.

The Advisory Committee has formulated a logical framework for the CEDP Heritage program, outlining long-term outcomes for heritage organizations:

1. Strengthening the preservation and presentation of heritage resources.
2. Enhancing sustainability.
3. Augmenting the relevance of heritage organizations to their community, province, and region by fostering increased social and economic contributions.

The CEDP for Heritage consists of two distinct components:

Prince Edward Island – Marketing Assistance Grant

Provided by the province of PEI, the Marketing Assistance program helps Island businesses to cover the expenses associated with marketing and exporting. This initiative allows them to expand their client base and increase sales quickly.

With a maximum of $16,000, this funding program will enable businesses to access up to 40% of their eligible costs. Each business can make two applications throughout the year for (a combined total of $16,000) within 12 months.

The applicant must:

  • Be legally registered and actively operating in Prince Edward Island to conduct business operations
  • Not have unpaid debt obligations that are registered in the Province’s Central Default Registry for this to be applicable
  • Spur growth in the economy, create jobs and attract more investment to benefit the province financially
  • Manufacture, process, or provide exportable services in specific sectors
